USF Online Student Evaluation Process

mouseThis information is provided as a courtesy. The Center for 21st Century Teaching Excellence is not involved in the online evaluation process.

The Office of Assessment, Decision Support is responsible for reporting course evaluation results, whether submitted as paper copies or online. The evaluations themselves are administered by the colleges and campuses. Representatives in each college and on each campus (listed below) receive the results and can also answer questions from faculty and students.

Four-step USF Online Student Evaluation Process:

Step No.
Title
Description

1.

Enrolling your course in the online evaluation process.

Each department should report online classes for coding in Banner before the semester begins. Department staff should contact Marie Boyette at mboyette@admin.usf.edu or 813-974-0405 with the course reference number or course prefix, number and section number. This coding enables the course to be included in the online evaluation process.

2.
Alerting your students to the online evaluation opportunity
Let your students know that they will be able to evaluate your course during the last three weeks of the fall or spring semester through OASIS. (Consult the Office of Assessment, Decision Support for evaluation timelines for the summer sessions.)

Provide the following directions to your students so that they can participate in the online evaluation of instructors:

  1. Access the World Wide Web using a Web browser
  2. Go to the USF main page. (http://www.usf.edu)
  3. In the lower left side of the screen, click on OASIS (all the way down)
  4. On the next page click on “Students Enter Here”
  5. On the next page, click the online student assessment (last item on left side of page)
  6. Read the directions
  7. Enter your USF ID and PIN numbers in the appropriate boxes
  8. Click the “Submit” button
  9. Click on the course to be evaluated
  10. Respond to all eight questions. Comments maybe entered into the comments box.
  11. When finished, click on the “Submit” button
  12. Repeat steps 9 through 11 until all courses have been evaluated (if you are evaluating multiple courses this way).
  13. Exit the Student Assessment of Instruction page
  14. Exit OASIS.

After an assessment form has been submitted, you are no longer able to access that assessment form again, so please check it carefully before submitting.

3.
